We're all about a well-booted man here at Penelope's, which is why we're stocking a solid range of Sebago boots this season. But these aren't just any ol' Sebagos, they're collaborations with some of our favorite menswear companies: BILLYKIRK and Filson.
The BILLYKIRK x Sebago collaboration combines the Bray Brothers' clean aesthetic and emphasis on quality leatherwork with a classic Sebago boot design rescued by the brothers from the company's archives. It's called the Fairhaven and it might be the most versatile style in the shop. It's a lean moc toe boot, casual enough to wear on a daily basis. The Bray Brothers have given us three versions: a short tan chukka-style fairhaven, a deep navy-black fairhaven boot with a fresh white sole, and an oiled brown leather fairhaven. Each style features a full-grain leather upper, full leather socklining, corrosive resistant Sebago eyelets, cushioned heel, and Sebago Docksides slip-resistant sole.
Filson brings a certain woodsy-ness to their collaboration, making Sebagos just as appropriate on land as at sea. It's all about the combination of rugged full-grain leather with Filson's famous tan tin cloth. The Kettle boot is the most classic; it's a traditional handsewn, Blucher moccasin with leather rawhide laces, leather socklining, EVA midsole and Vibram rubber sole. The Knight is a shorter version of the Kettle, hitting at the ankle and made with a lighter tan leather. The Osmore boot features a few more stylish bells and whistles, bringing it closer to Sebago's classic boat shoe.
