Fall 2007: Built by Wendy

Wendy Mullin does not sleep. In the past few years, she has designed a cowboy-inspired line for Wranger Jeans, written a how-to-sew book, created sewing patterns for Simplicity, opened new stores in Brooklyn & Los Angeles, and collaborated with some of the finest talents in the worlds of fashion, art, film, comedy, and music, all while pushing forward with her own aptly-named clothing and accessory line, Built by Wendy. Her line was an inspiration to us when we opened, and five years later it is still the most cherished line we stock. We love the timeless styles and the quirky, not-trying-to-hard approach to her fashion. Here is a recent interview with Wendy, where she talks a bit about her inspiration for her new collection: "My fall collection is what I would wear if I were a Waspy Connecticut girl in the 80’s. Preppy and classic; borrowing your mom’s Chanel purse."

Today the first of many shipments of Built by Wendy’s fall collection arrived, including ladies’ sweaters, and jeans for both men and women:

sailor stripe crewneck sweater ($164.)

thin belt ($40.)

straight leg stretch jean, available in indigo or black ($120.)

men's classic straight leg jeans ($145.)
